What is a sicario?

A sicario is a Spanish term that refers to a hitman or assassin, typically hired by drug cartels or other criminal organizations to carry out assassinations or other violent acts. Sicarios are often recruited from impoverished backgrounds and may have little or no formal education. They are trained in the use of firearms and explosives, as well as tactics such as stealth, surveillance, and interrogation. Sicarios typically work independently or in small groups, and may be involved in drug trafficking, extortion, kidnapping, and other criminal activities in addition to carrying out assassinations. The life expectancy of a sicario is generally short, as they often face retaliation from rival organizations or law enforcement.
